Two Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
